One question that we are often asked is: What are the differences between Percale weave and Sateen weave sheets? They are vastly different weaves and knowing the difference between the two will help you decide which would work best for a personalized sleep experience. Let us shed some light on the great Percale vs. Sateen weave debate!    

Define Sateen Weave?

The sateen weave uses a four over, one under pattern which creates a surface that is smooth and lustrous. It also has fewer binding points that allows the yarns to bind together tightly making these sheets very dense and durable. We currently offer sheets in a Sateen Weave in   400, 650, 1000, 1200, and 1500 thread counts in a variety of colors and sizes.The percale weave is very closely woven together and is noticeably tighter than that of the sateen weave with a one over, one under pattern. 

Define Percale?

The percale weave does not have a noticeable gloss to it as the sateen does. Our percale sheets come in a 300 thread count, have a medium weight, are very durable, and are much crisper to the touch than a sateen sheet.  They feel cool and crisp against the skin and are ideal for warmer weather. Another benefit for the very tight weave is an increased durability. They will remain in great shape after years of use and will maintain their softness and appearance.
