We offer a large variety of mattress toppers and mattress pads here at eLuxury and customers are often asking us in Customer Service what the differences are. Sleeping comfort is a very subjective matter and every mattress is different. We wanted to provide this Mattress Topper Buying Guide to help you along! 

There is no one topper that is perfect for everyone. That said, by explaining the differences between our toppers and the type of sleeping position that will be best for each style of sleeper, you will be able to find a mattress topper that will fit perfectly for your needs to get a great night’s rest.

Mattress Toppers for Back Sleepers and Stomach Sleepers

Our best selling mattress topper is our Bamboo Removable Pillow Top Mattress Pad.  It has 3 inches of polyester cluster fiber loft that is sewn down to about 1.5 inches thick .   That makes this topper great to put on a mattress that is a little too firm for what you are looking for. The fabric on top is made from a rayon from bamboo and polyester blend.  Rayon from bamboo is a type of fabric that is more breathable, so it will sleep cooler as well as being very soft to the touch.  This topper also comes with an elastic skirt that will keep the topper from sliding around and tucks under your mattress, much like a fitted sheet would.

In comparison to our bamboo topper, we sell the Extra Plush Mattress Pad with Fitted Skirt .  This topper will be exactly like the bamboo topper with a difference of the fabric on the top layer. We recommend this topper to anyone looking for the same added comfort that the bamboo version provides, but not necessarily the coolness factor. It is not quite as cooling as the bamboo version, which customers in colder climates often prefer! 

We also carry a version of the Marriott topper that is just a bit less thick, which we call the 5 Star Hotel Mattress Pad.  This pad is filled with polyester cluster fiber, has a polyester fabric, but it is about 1 inch thick. This type of mattress topper is great for consumers who are mostly happy with their current mattress, but would like just a touch of extra softness to make their bed "just right". 

Mattress Toppers for Side and Back Sleepers

For those looking for a major upgrade in the softness department, we are now carrying our Extra Plush and Extra Thick series offered in the styles of our Comfort Pad and Bamboo Mattress Pad.  These toppers come in two parts; The Standard or Visco from Bamboo topper as a top layer and our Visco memory foam topper as a second, super soft layer.  This combination is something that dreams are made of for people who want a "cloud-like" feel on their mattress. All in all, it makes the extra thick topper about 3 inches thick.  This is great for people who feel that their mattress is too firm and want an overhaul without spending hundreds (or thousands!) on a new mattress. These toppers are best suited for side sleepers as it will form to your body and still offer support.
